TRAVEL TIME?: This article in the Industry Standard reminds me how much I want/need to make a pilgrimage to Powell's Bookstore which, as IS explains, is "the online bookstore that makes money." (Uh-oh!) The real-world Powell's is a bookworm's nirvana, though. Y'know, it's been far too long since I visited Portland.

...an interesting calendrical tidbit: the zodiac that everyone is familiar with today is actually based upon the movement of the sun through the constellations of 2500 years ago. today, due to shifts in the earth's rotation and orbit, the sun moves through 13 constellations, not just 12. here's the updated version: Pisces (March 13 - April 19)

ADOLESCENT FLASHBACK CITY! Every personal computer I ever tinkered with, from age 7 (!) on, seems to be preserved and well-tended at the Obsolete Computer Museum.

OH, MOMMA! Kathryn Grody performed her one-woman show, A Mom's Life, at COCA last season after a long hiatus from the piece. The experience of preparing and performing it again was so nice for her that she said she and husband Mandy Patinkin were considering producing it in New York again. And they did! Here's the New York Times review, not gushing, but appreciative.
