Gay-Seeming Straight Male

HOMOSEXUAL PANIC: Leif Ueland looks at the trials of being the antithesis of a "straight-acting gay male." (In other words, a "gay-seeming straight male.")

ON THE OTHER HAND: An oldie-but-goodie: Todd Levin wonders, "Does That Make Me Gay?"

PRIMITIVE, INDEED: Mother Jones takes a look at "The Man Who Loves to Hate," Kansas "primitive Baptist" minister Fred Phelps. I first encountered Fred in 1990 when I was in Wichita for the first local gay pride march. He's gotten more persistent and a lot scarier since then.

PHOTO FINISH: The 20th annual St. Louis Gay Pride Festival was last Saturday and Sunday. If, by chance, you missed the fun, the folks at #gaystlouis snapped a few pictures.

SPEAKING OF WHICH: This past weekend, I got to do something I've wanted to do since I was 14 years old. It involves a man and a controlled substance...and thereby hangs a tale of love, possibility and promise. I'll be telling it soon, so watch this space.
