Ding dong

I'm at the Apple Store and I just heard that Ronald Reagan died. The news went up on CNN.com a few minutes ago.
Man, one of my secret wishes finally came true. Thanks a lot, universe. Took you long enough.
Now then, how about getting to work on a couple of my other wishes: a cure, and my friends back.
If you'll excuse me, I have to go somewhere and dance my ass off.
Further: It's been pointed out by a couple of folks that I appear to be "less than sensitive" about this topic and that it is "unseemly" to celebrate on the occasion of Reagan's death. Two thoughts: fuck off and you may be right.
So, allow me to revise and extend my remarks. He was a bad actor, a bad president and a poor excuse for a human being. No one, however, deserves the suffering that accompanies a baffling, debilitating and ultimately fatal disease. (Something he apparently never understood as, through his words or (in)actions, he perpetuated a culture of blame, stigmatization and hatred, and hastened death and suffering.)
As a member of the race, then, I'm grateful that his family and he are out of his misery. And I'm even more grateful that he's out of mine.
That's all I have to say. Besides, the WiFi signal in this bar is fading and my champagne has arrived.
