Mmm…daddy like!
Neil Patrick Harris and my future husband Jason Segel totally making out? Yeah, that's going on my fantasy highlight reel. (It's an outtake from season three of How I Met Your Mother. Video here.) Hubba hubba!
I'd been holding out a bit of hope that cutie John Barrowman would finally come to his senses and rush into my arms, but alas, that now seems not likely to be. He's gettin' hitched. (Congrats.)
What a way to wake up! No wonder Good Morning America is doing so well in the ratings. Today's edition featured not just one but two of my most ardent crushes: Hunky, self-effacing anchor Bill Weir interviewing hunky, self-effacing Seann William Scott about the latter's involvement in the upcoming Dukes of Hazzard movie.
It was, without question, the yum-yum-yummiest breakfast I've had all week.
A Trio of Weekend Cuties:The Cute List has also long lain fallow, so it'll be added to my list of summer renovations hereabout. In the meantime, here are a handful of boys wot are making my trousers tighter today.
"Simon": A model for Squirtz. I'm not typically the type to fawn over porn actors and models, but I can't get this cutie amateur off my brain. Bright smile and a lovely lilting French-Canadian accent combined with an...well, enthusiasm for his paid-to-wank work. Makes me want to take up snowboarding — his professed favorite sport — and stalk the slopes just searching for him. My, my, my, my, my.
Bobby Cannavale: Formerly of Third Watch and Kingpin, he's now the only reason to watch Will & Grace now that the writing's gone way downhill and the acting's gone way over the top. He plays a cop named Vince, the latest love interest for Will. Vince is dating way below himself.
Michael Carr: Handsome, sweet and dedicated to customer service. What's not to love? I discovered this fella while watching my favorite reality TV show, Airline. Michael's a manager for Southwest Airlines at LAX. I was devastated to find out he already has a boyfriend, since I was banking my Rapid Rewards for an exploratory journey to LA.
After four (!) years on the New York Times bestseller list, John Berendt contemplates life and another novel after Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. [Washington Post]
A few years ago, I read a compelling book — the title and author of which escape me at the moment — about the birth and subsequent ascendance of CNN. Of course, this was before the Gulf War when the network really took off. Now, a similarly compelling cable success story might be spun about kid's web Nickelodeon. [Philadelpha Inquirer]
Talk about "portals" on the Web is all the rage right now, megasites that are mere launch sites to other parts of the great untamed net. AOL wants to be one, and so do Snap! and the Mining Company. But portals work best when, like this weblog, they're free — or relatively free — of commercial interruption and influence. And so concurs the Net Skink with this look at alternative portals. [San Francisco Examiner]
Speaking of commercial interruption, I am thisclose to boycotting GeoCities. Don't get me wrong: providing free webspace is a great thing and there are tons of worthy sites thereabout, but their stupid pop-up Java windows with ads seem to perpetually crash whatever browser I'm using. Let me know if this happens to you.
The Kids in the Hall are more or less splitsville, but Scott Thompson is doing his best to make sure Buddy Cole does not go quietly, and tells about Buddy's latest adventures in Salon. (Also, check out Scott's very own domain, the ever-amusing ScottLand.) [Salon]
Plenty more links to add, but so little time, so little time. More soon!
