Still so true
Yeah, I remember chuckling when someone sent me this attached to an e-mail
three years ago. Man, those were the days, eh?

A sign
Look, I don't know much about the entertainment media or show business—oh wait, actually, I
do—but when the 72-point headline above your photo on
the cover of Entertainment Weekly is "
Oh, the horror!", chances are your "comeback" isn't going very well.

Related how, exactly?
There's a tearoom joke to be made here somehow, but I can't quite get my mind around it.
On the other hand, I
am in the process of remodeling a bathroom at home.
How did del.icio.us know?!

Well, there you are…
OK, this one is for the musical theatre geeks in the audience. (I know you're there.) Although, frankly, I doubt you'd really even have to be an acolyte of the thespianic persuasion to spot the error in
this eBay listing.
On the other hand, perhaps it's not a mistake at all. Which would make this copy of an already rare commodity rarer still indeed. No bids so far. Here's your chance to score!

Mandonna
There are about eight million things wrong with
Mandonna — "the all-male, all-live tribute to the material girl".
So why can't I stop watching?

Ding dong
I'm at the Apple Store and I just heard that Ronald Reagan died. The news
went up on CNN.com a few minutes ago.
Man, one of my secret wishes finally came true. Thanks a
lot, universe. Took you long enough.
Now then, how about getting to work on a couple of my other wishes: a cure, and my friends back.
If you'll excuse me, I have to go somewhere and
dance my ass off.
Further: It's been pointed out by a couple of folks that I appear to be "less than sensitive" about this topic and that it is "unseemly" to celebrate on the occasion of Reagan's death. Two thoughts: fuck off and you may be right.
So, allow me to revise and extend my remarks. He was a bad actor, a bad president and a poor excuse for a human being. No one, however, deserves the suffering that accompanies a baffling, debilitating and ultimately fatal disease. (Something he apparently never understood as, through his words or (in)actions, he perpetuated a culture of blame, stigmatization and hatred, and hastened death and suffering.)
As a member of the race, then, I'm grateful that his family and he are out of his misery. And I'm even more grateful that he's out of mine.
That's all I have to say. Besides, the WiFi signal in this bar is fading and my champagne has arrived.
